How do I activate/ reactivate and deactivate my SOLIDWORKS product (Network)?

Activation/ Reactivation

Locate which workstation that the SolidNetWork License Manager Server (SNL) is already running the SNL that you need to activate/reactivate it.

Internet connection is required but not compulsary

Step1: Go to Start > SolidNetWork License Manager Server 20XX > Select Modify

Step 2: Then select the middle option ‘Activate/Reactivate your product license(s)’

Step 3: When reactivating, you will be prompted if you are using a Firewall; check the option “A firewall is in use on this server”. Make sure the port number is input as 25734.

Step 4: Click the Next button to select the serial numbers that you want to activate. Enter your email address.

If the computer is connected to the internet you can activate ‘Automatically over the Internet…’, otherwise select ‘Manually via e-mail’.

Step 5: For Manual activations only

Select 1 serial number at a time, click Next, then you will be presented with a screen to Save a request .txt file. Copy or moved the .txt file onto a system that has email access. Send the .txt request file to activation@solidworks.com.

Once you received the responds file in .txt format. Copy to the local machine and Open the .txt response file. Next.

Step 6: Once the SNL is activated, the final step is to verify that you have the correct quantity of licenses that you purchased. Every seat of SOLIDWORKS Professional or SOLIDWORKS Premium will come along with a seat of SOLIDWORKS Standard in the product list. SOLIDWORKS Standard is the pre-requisite of SOLIDWORKS Professional and SOLIDWORKS Premium.

Deactivate

When there is a migration of server, you will need todeactivate the license and relocate the license to the new server workstation. Locate which workstation that the SolidNetWork License Manager Server (SNL) is currently running the SNL.

Step1: Go to Start > SolidNetWork License Manager Server 20XX > Select Modify

Step 2: Then select the option “Move your product license(s) to a new/upgraded computer.” Click Next.

Step 3: Click the Next button to select the serial numbers that you want to activate. Enter in your email address to be logged with who activated the license. If the computer is connected to the internet you can activate ‘Automatically over the Internet…’, otherwise select ‘Manually via e-mail’.
